God
Is So Good
Psalm 116
14 I will
fulfill my vows to the LORD
in the presence of all his people.
This verse has a chance to make you feel very
legalistic about your relationship with GOD.
Like, for instance, have you ever broken a vow? Have you promised GOD
that "If YOU just get me out of this
situation, I will never . . . . . ?"
I think we may have all been there and quite
probably fallen short of our end of the deal. But let's look at something
else.
The traditional marriage vows
say, " . . . in sickness and in health, richer or poorer, for
better or for worse . . ." This vows says, "No
matter what, I am yours!"
We can show the LORD
JESUS how much we love HIM
and appreciate HIM by remembering daily,
that no matter what, we are HIS!
Don't get me wrong, I like the
"better" parts more than the "worse" parts. But
sometimes worse comes. Sometimes daily. And, although, these times
are the most important times to stay close to HIM,
often we forget this fact in our misery.
Most wonderfully, we serve a GOD
who arms himself for battle when we are in trouble. HE
is the Captain of the Armies of Heaven! HE
will fight for us to the finish (the finish of our enemies).
So, let us fulfill our marriage vows to HIM
and do it in the presence of HIS
people! Leave a lasting impression on someone else, so they will do the
same in their time of need!
